The New Lumix L10 Might Be Lumix’s Best Looking Camera Yet!
There’s something refreshing about a camera that makes you want to take it everywhere.
Over the past few days I’ve been out in Osaka, Japan shooting with the brand new Lumix L10 ahead of its launch, and honestly, this camera has surprised me in the best way possible. It feels like Lumix have taken everything people love about premium compact cameras and finally created something that genuinely feels exciting again.
And before we even get into specs… this thing looks stunning!
A Camera Designed to Be Carried Everywhere
The first thing you notice about the Lumix L10 is the design. In my opinion, this is easily the best looking camera Lumix have ever made.
It’s available in black, silver and black, and a really striking titanium gold version, which does come in slightly more expensive. Seeing the gold model in person around the streets of Osaka, it definitely feels like the more premium statement option. It has that classic compact-camera styling but still feels modern and refined.
It’s compact enough to genuinely become an everyday carry camera. The kind of camera you throw into a small bag or carry around your neck all day without thinking about it. And honestly, that’s what makes it exciting to me.
So many cameras today are incredibly capable, but they’re not always cameras you want to carry. The Lumix L10 feels different!
Premium Compact Camera, Serious Performance
Underneath the retro-inspired design is some seriously capable hardware.
The camera uses a 26MP sensor with 20MP effective resolution (the same sensor found in the Lumix GH7) which immediately gives you confidence in the image quality and video performance.
And from what I’ve shot so far, the images look fantastic. There’s a really nice balance of detail, colour and depth that gives photos a premium feel straight out of camera.
On the front is a built-in Leica Summilux lens with a 24-75mm equivalent focal range and a bright f/1.7–2.8 aperture. That combination makes the camera incredibly versatile. Wide enough for street photography and travel, but also long enough for portraits and tighter details.

It really feels like Lumix have designed this camera around real-world photography rather than just specs on paper.
Surprisingly Powerful Video Features
Although the Lumix L10 feels heavily photography-focused, the video features are honestly very impressive too.
You can shoot:
4K video up to 120fps
5.3K open gate recording
Phase Detect Autofocus
O.I.S built into the lens
Built-in EVF (which I’m very happy to see included)
For creators who shoot both photo and video, this is great. It is definitely a camera aimed towards everyday carry and photographers but with it being a Lumix, and video features being required more and more, you always know the video features are going to be impressive.
And importantly, none of these features feel like they’ve been added at the expense of the camera’s character. It still feels simple, enjoyable and focused on the shooting experience.
My Early Thoughts
After a few days shooting with it around Osaka, my biggest takeaway is this:
The Lumix L10 makes photography feel fun again.
It’s easy to carry, genuinely beautiful to use, and packed with far more capability than you’d expect from a camera this size. In a world where many cameras are becoming increasingly large, complicated and overly clinical, this feels like a camera designed to inspire people to actually go out and shoot.
And honestly, that matters more than specs ever will.
There’s still a lot more I want to test over the coming weeks, especially with photography and everyday shooting, but first impressions are, despite a couple of small quirks… extremely positive!
Lumix might have just created one of the most desirable compact cameras of the year.
